Having designed many hundreds of buildings across New Zealand and Japan, founder Tony Fitzpatrick ventured to Helsinki, Finland in 2015 to further his skills and work on larger scale projects than he had been able to in New Zealand, establishing himself as a BIM guru in the process.
For more than a decade I have been working in the New Zealand Timber Frame Building industry as a technician, consultant and designer, while residing in South Africa.I have done various concept drawings, working drawings and consent drawings and have a good understanding of the New Zealand Building Code with the focus on Architectural homes and buildings.I believe BIM (Building Information Management) is the future, specially in the Graphisoft Archicad workflow, working together with various Consultants building and designing better and smarter buildings.
Mike is a designer and building professional who has spent 30 years in the construction industry, and covered a lot of ground in the process. Working in several countries on different continents during that time he has gained insight and experience with the latest developments in building methods and technologies.
Based in Japan for the past 17 years he’s has made an art of coordinating and delivering projects in multiple locations, utilizing remote teams and resources. He has zeroed in on Archicad and BIM implementation as the most complete and effective system to drive the industry forward.
Mike has founded and co-founded several companies and businesses during his career, and brings all this experience to the Bimcrowd with the desire to build a team that will continue to improve and innovate within the design and construction space in order to leave a better world behind him.
